YIN YOGA

SLOW-PACED

Escape the daily grind and rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul with our expert-led, deeply personalised Yin sessions, suitable for people new to yoga or who want to balance intense workouts.

Yin yoga moves energy through various centres of the body, releasing tension and emotion that causes postural compensation in the body. Therefore, if you want to promote body circulation, increase flexibility and mobility, and reduce stress and anxiety, our immersive Yin session will take you there.

Yin YOGA vs Restorative Yoga

While Yin and Restorative Yoga may seem similar, they have distinct focuses. On one hand, Yin Yoga creates intense sensations and stress on ligaments and joints, whereas Restorative Yoga is more about relaxation and repair.

All forms of yoga promote flexibility and help to decrease tension; however, this type of Yoga takes it to another level by allowing for more time to be spent in each pose, which supports a deeper stretch and, therefore, aligns the body’s energies to prepare for more subtle practices, like meditation.

What experience do I need?

There are no formal entry requirements; however, you are highly recommended to attend the 'Discover Yoga and Meditation' workshop to maximise the benefits of this session.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF YIN YOGA?

  1. Firstly, it allows for restoration and healing by activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which is our rest-and-digest response (1).
  2. Secondly, supports weight management by lowering cortisol levels (2).
  3. Thirdly, it helps to release toxins and blocked energy in the body and the mind. Allows cleansing of the fascia and connective tissues (3,6).
  4. Fourthly, it lowers body temperature, respiration rate, heart rate and blood pressure by activating the parasympathetic nervous system (4,7).
  5. Finally, it improves flexibility, boosts circulation, and reduces tension, leading to a healthier and more energetic you (5).
