Yin Yoga Experience
A private, fully guided experience combining gentle, longer-held yoga postures, breath awareness, meditation and a sensory environment considered especially for you.
Time, stillness and mindful exploration.
Yin Yoga invites you to explore a slower relationship with movement.
A small selection of postures allows time to notice sensations, observe the breath and develop awareness of how your body responds. Unlike more active yoga practices, each position remains in place for an extended period.
Mild to moderate stretching sensations may arise, but intensity is not the objective. Together with your practitioner, you can explore comfortable positioning and adjust the level of support according to your needs.
Bolsters, blankets and blocks can modify the angle, depth or demands of a posture. You remain free to move, change position or leave a posture at any time.
Throughout the experience, gentle breath awareness and meditation complement the slower rhythm.
Attentive exploration, rather than endurance or achievement, remains at the heart of the practice.
The Art of Stillness
Yin Yoga invites you to explore a slower relationship with movement.
Your practitioner gradually introduces a small selection of postures, which you maintain for longer than in many more active yoga practices. This provides an opportunity to notice sensations, observe the breath and develop awareness of how your body responds over time.
You may experience mild to moderate stretching sensations, but intensity is not the objective. Your practitioner helps you find an appropriate position and adjusts the level of support according to your comfort.
Props can modify the angle, depth or demands of a posture. You are always welcome to move, change position or leave a posture before the suggested time has elapsed.
Gentle breath awareness and meditation complement the slower rhythm of the practice.
The emphasis remains on attentive exploration rather than endurance or achievement.
What Makes Yin Yoga Different?
Longer-Held Postures
A small selection of positions is maintained for extended periods, allowing time for mindful exploration.
A Slower Rhythm
Transitions are unhurried, creating space to notice sensations and respond to your body.
Breath and Meditation
Gentle breath awareness and guided meditation complement the practice, supporting a contemplative approach to movement and stillness.
Individual Intensity
Each posture allows you to explore a comfortable level of sensation, with adjustments to suit your individual needs. Deep stretching or discomfort is never required.

QUESTIONS
Questions About Yin Yoga
Do I need previous yoga experience?
No. You do not need previous yoga experience. Each posture comes with individual guidance on positioning, support and appropriate intensity.
Do I need to be flexible?
No. Yin Yoga does not require exceptional flexibility. Postures can be adapted using props and alternative positions according to your individual range of movement and comfort.
The intention is not to achieve the deepest possible stretch.
How long will I hold each posture?
Yin Yoga generally involves holding postures for several minutes, although the duration varies according to the position and individual requirements.
Individual guidance and suitable alternatives accompany each posture. You remain free to adjust or leave a position at any time.
Should Yin Yoga feel uncomfortable?
Gentle to moderate stretching sensations may arise, but pain, sharp sensations, tingling or numbness are not objectives of the practice.
If discomfort occurs, you can communicate this and adjust or leave the posture whenever necessary.
Individual guidance helps you explore an appropriate level of intensity without pushing through discomfort.
Can Yin Yoga be adapted if I have limited mobility?
Adaptations may be possible using bolsters, blocks, blankets and alternative positioning.
Please share any relevant mobility requirements or physical considerations during your consultation. Together, we can consider whether Yin Yoga is suitable or whether another Orenna experience may be more appropriate.
How is Yin Yoga different from Restorative Yoga?
Yin Yoga involves longer-held postures with gentle, individualised levels of sensation and mindful awareness. Restorative Yoga uses extensive support to encourage comfort, minimise physical effort and facilitate deep rest.
Can I continue the practice at home?
Following your appointment, you receive personalised electronic practice notes containing selected postures, positioning guidance and practical suggestions considered appropriate for independent practice.
These notes reflect your individual session rather than providing a generic sequence.
