YOGA FOR ANXIETY

SERENITY THERAPY

We completely understand how overwhelming it can be to deal with excessive worry, fear, restlessness, and tension about everyday issues and situations. Therefore, we are introducing Yoga for Anxiety: Your source of support and relief during challenging times.

In other words, this experience will help you understand, transform, and release your emotional blocks. As a matter of fact, sessions are a complementary approach to psychological treatments for anxiety.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN A YOGA for anxiety SESSION?

Each session delves into the fundamental principles of yoga and meditation, exploring the connection between yoga and anxiety management. Therefore, this journey will lead you to inner peace and emotional well-being.

By the end of our sessions, you will have acquired practical tools to manage anxiety effectively. In addition, you will develop the ability to identify anxiety triggers and master self-soothing techniques. Above all, these skills will empower you to navigate anxiety more effectively daily, significantly improving your overall well-being.

What experience do I need?

There are no formal entry requirements; however, you are highly recommended to attend the 'Discover Yoga and Meditation' workshop to maximise the benefits of this session.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF YOGA FOR ANXIETY?

Firstly, scientific studies strongly suggest that practising yoga may help reduce anxiety by increasing levels of the brain neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). (1).

Secondly, outcomes from an 8-week yoga intervention (asanas, pranayama, and meditation) indicated that medical treatment plus yoga is more effective than medical treatment alone in reducing anxiety (2).

Thirdly, over and above the physical benefits of yoga, the research findings highlight that many people attribute their motivation to engage with the practice for stress relief purposes and to manage mental health conditions (3).

Finally, regular yoga practice may also exert a healthy lifestyle effect, including vegetarianism, non‑smoking, reduced alcohol consumption, increased exercise and reduced stress, with resulting cost benefits to the community (4).
